Working at a firm like Marcum lets me offer prospects so many different areas of expertise - whether it's tax credits like Research and Development or Worker Opportunity credits; or complex corporate, individual, or international tax services; or specializations that help us gain a competitive edge in offering much more than just audits or tax compliance. I truly find my work exciting, fun, challenging and rewarding.

What makes me the most proud is seeing good results for my clients. I am proud to apply my knowledge to our client circumstances and succeed. I know that I have done my job well when clients call me back to embark on another project together, which happens often. Being able to collaborate on a diverse team is a great experience. Everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute, and bringing different perspectives to the table adds the most value for clients.

I have some friends who are CPAs, and after hearing about their jobs over the years, I starting becoming interested in accounting and learning about the valuable experiences you can have working with a wide variety of clients and interacting with them really influenced my opinion regarding going into public accounting. I say that because my first accounting job out of college was as a cost accountant, and although I learned quite a bit in that job, it doesn’t compare to what I’m learning now in public accounting at Marcum.

I joined Marcum because it is a nationally known firm that can provide greater career opportunities, advancement, and growth than smaller firms.
